Haikyu!! Volleyball Anime Gets 2 Compilation Films This Fall

This year's 16th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Saturday that the television anime of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga will spawn two compilation movies this fall. The films are titled Haikyu!! Sainō to Sense (Haikyu!! Genius and Sense) and Haikyu!! Concept no Tatakai (Haikyu!! Battle of Concepts). The first movie will portray the match against Aobajōsai High School from the second season, and the second movie will cover the match against Shiratorizawa Academy portrayed in the third and latest season.
The TOHO animation booth in this year's AnimeJapan 2017 event will unveil a promotional video and a teaser visual for the films on March 25.
Production I.G's anime adaptation of Furudate's volleyball manga premiered in April 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in June and August 2015. The second season of the anime premiered in October 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the series for North America.

Viz Media published the ninth volume of the original manga in North America on March 7.
